Dunstan Rickard

Dunstan has been playing bass since the age of 14 after a fair few years behind a drum kit. A self-taught player (or unteachable if you believe his parents), he spent most of the 90s and early 2000’s in Brit Rock, Funk and Jazz Fusion bands.

 

“I never thought I’d see the day, where I played in an Eric Clapton tribute band… I was more than aware of the great man’s work, just never gravitated to it. It was a phone call from a very enthusiastic Geoff Tanner telling me about this band and go and listen to the incredible live performances…. So, I did, and I was smitten (if not a little obsessed with Nathan East’s tone and musicality) ... To be part of a fantastic band and work with like-minded and professional musicians is a great privilege”.

As a rhythm section that have played for many years together, Dunstan and Geoff form the backbone of the Eric & Claptones sound.
